Expanded Packaging Requirements for Repellent Products

Packaging intended for repellent products must meet elevated performance standards due to the specific nature of the substances they contain. Repellents often include chemically active or volatile components, which means that ordinary packaging films are not sufficient.

To ensure product stability, safety, and shelf-life, only barrier materials that demonstrate resistance to aggressive chemical exposure should be used.
Such barrier structures serve several critical functions.

They prevent the active ingredients from breaking down or evaporating, and they stop any interaction between the product and the external environment. This includes protecting against the ingress of moisture, air, and grease, as well as preventing the absorption or transmission of external odors that could alter the product’s characteristics.

Likewise, the barrier layer must stop the repellent formulation from permeating outward, which could lead to product loss, reduced effectiveness, or contamination of surrounding goods.
